Balancing School and Sports

One of the most challenging things when it comes to being a student athlete is being able to balance school work and being able to perform well at practice and in games. I'm a student athlete myself but i only play one sport in the spring. I wanted to get other student athletes opinion on how they balance.

Dylan Peterson is a senior here at Pocomoke High School and every year played baseball and soccer. Baseball and soccer are in 2 different times of the year, so most of the year he is playing sports. Not only does he play sports but he also is in AP classes.

Being a student athlete takes a lot of work and toughness if it's a lot of stress. Is it hard? “Not really, just have to plan the week out as things come up.”, Dylan says.

Sometimes to be able to balance sport activities and school work you need to sacrifice some of your own time. “Sometimes i do, i had a break from soccer because of my injury i used my time to focus on schoolwork.”, also, “I use most of my Your60 to do most of my work”, Dylan says. Your 60 has probably helped many student athletes with problems not being able to do homework.

Time to your own self is very nice, but sometimes that will have to be sacrificed to have better grades or perform better at your sport.
