Mrs. Pusey was a coach, teacher, mom, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, etc. But in everything she did she taught strength, how to never give up no matter what the circumstances, how to love, and to always believe in yourself.

When you hear the words Pocomoke Field Hockey or even just simply Field Hockey, you automatically think of her. Some players even called her mom. Mrs. Pusey was a legend, a role model and someone you could just talk to in need for advice. During school, she always greeted each student who walked by her with a warm smile on her face. She was passionate about so many things in life. She loved harder and was stronger than anyone you will ever meet. Her heart was full of blue and gold pride, love for her family, students and field hockey players, past and present. She instilled a love for field hockey around the state and even the nation, a love no one could ever describe. If it wasn’t for Coach Pusey, there wouldn’t be half the players there are today. Her love for God was the biggest love she had alongside her family. Before every game in her classroom, the team gathered around in a circle, held hands and she led the team in prayer. On the sidelines right before the game is about to start she has the team recite The Lord’s Prayer. Mrs. Pusey got her strength and love through God and spread it all around.

Mrs. Pusey was known across many states for her reputation in her coaching for the Pocomoke Field Hockey team. Coach Pusey started coaching in 1991. She earned 16 state championships 8 which  were from 2003-2010. She had a “Perfect” season in which that year the team won the state title and went unscored upon. Even without the awards she is a legend in just in how she coaches. Coach Pusey may not have had the best skilled players sometimes, but she brought out the best in them and taught them to always give 110%. And how could you forget everything has to be brand and color coordinated! Dig deep, never give up and BELIEVE. “Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end, they simply mean I miss you until we meet again.”

One goal, One dream, Our Pride, Our team.
