Pocomoke has welcomed yet another new face to the staff. A product of Stephen Decatur High School and graduate of Salisbury University, Mr. Zimmer brings his highly adaptable personality to Pocomoke High and his ability to connect with the students here is remarkable. Here are a few questions asked during an interview and Mr. Zimmer’s responses to those questions.

Q. Who/What inspired you to become a teacher?

A. “My father was a big role model for me. He led my sisters and I down the path, so to speak. Mainly I enjoy working with kids and having a positive impact on their lives.”

Q. Was Pocomoke your first choice or did you have other options?

A. “I was exploring my options, but once I heard from Dr. Wallace I immediately accepted.”

Q. Why do you feel high school is the best level to teach in?

A. “The kids are old enough to understand the complexities of life. And they can take my jokes and dish them back”

Q. Are you familiar with any other teachers here at PHS?

A. “Very. Miss Kief has been a friend of mine since I was in middle school. I also met Dr. Wallace in middle school when she coached my sister in soccer and softball.”

Q. Do you enjoy teaching here at PHS? Why?

A. “I don’t enjoy it. I LOVE IT. The staff and students are the best parts of my day.”

Q. How would you describe yourself?

A. “Easy going. I care about my job and the success of PHS students. I want to be someone students can trust and open up to.”

Mr. Zimmer has welcomed the atmosphere here at PHS right into his own world. He enjoys being apart of the school and even volunteers with games and other after school events. We welcome Mr. Zimmer to PHS and are grateful to have him here.
