During this time of year, it is very important for seniors to live in the guidance office. Getting information for scholarships, whether they are national or local, can be a huge benefit to any student that plans on going to college.

Senior, Monique Snead, has realized the toll scholarships can take on your senior career.

The amount of scholarships any senior feels out determines if they will have successful years in college. “An average amount should be around 5 to 10 scholarships. Me personally, I haven’t filled out any, but when I do, hopefully, it will be around the average, amount.” stated Snead.

Scholarships are important because if you don’t meet all of the regulations for the school, they may want you for your money. “My SAT scores weren’t exactly where they needed to be so I know that it will be hard for me to get help from schools. I don’t have a strategy on how I will get the money other that then scholarships,” said Snead.

A grand amount of college students take out loans because they don’t have the money from where they didn’t fill out scholarships. Loans should be th

e last resort for many students because it can be very challenging to pay them back. Some loans hang over people’s heads for years and they still aren’t able to pay the money back. “I’m hoping that I can have a good amount of scholarship refunds but the way I procrastinate, I may have to take out a few loans,” stated Snead.

Many seniors in high school should consider scholarships because they can be very beneficial so you don’t have to struggle while you’re in college. The pressure is already full force when it comes to working so filling out scholarships gives you free money and a free mind to not worry about using your own.
