Being a teen mom is very hard. Raising a child , going to school, and also trying to provide.

Talking to senior Brechelle Shrieves . She explained a little bit of her story to me.“ Getting pregnant at 15 and having the baby at 16, it is hard raising a child as teenager.” 3 in 10 american girls get pregnant . 50% of teen moms don't graduate from high school . According to (https://www.dosomething.org/us/facts/11-facts-about-teen-pregnancy) .

But unlike other teen moms Shrieves has a good support system ( Her Mother) that is making sure she finishes high school and excel in life even as a teen mother . “ My mother is very accepting, it doesn't affect my household it’s actually like a breath of fresh air. “ States Shrieves. She keeps up with her school work and doesn’t fall behind which is a plus.

Some may think going to school and being pregnant could be hard, Not only because of grades but because of the peers around. “ Going to school I received weird looks and slurs but it didn’t bother me much. alf the time I paid those that did no mind.” says Shrieves . It shouldn’t have to be that way. But in today’s time everyone has something to say. But she’s doing great as a mother, so as you can see those stares and slurs didn't’ bother her.

“ If I could go back and wait to have a child I would. Not saying I don’t love my baby but because I would rather be more stable and have a easier life for my child.” States Shrieves.

“The best part of being a teen mom is when you feel like nobody loves you, your child loves you. My baby puts a smile on my face everyday. He’s changed me. I’m a better person then what I was before I had him. He makes me look forward to the next day , he just gives me something to live for. He’s the best and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”  Said Shrieves
