In an incident where Police Lt. Steve McClanahan of Little Rock Police says “the boy and his grandmother were completely innocent and have no relationship with the shooter,” a $20,000 reward is being offered in the hunt for the killer, reports Fox news.

The car that they are looking for is an “older black Chevrolet Impala,” says Fox News. It was reported also by Fox News that “the boy and his grandmother were on a shopping trip and stopped at a stop sign when another driver stepped out of his car and opened fire.”

This among many other incidents will fuel the fight for gun control in the United States of America as a new president is transitioning into office. Situations like this, however, cannot quite be controlled, because of the spontaneity of the incident and the lack of connection between the victim and the murderer. Some may argue that the answer is to have stricter gun policies, or to have no allowance for possession of an armed weapon. Others say that this takes away their right to protect themselves. As the hunt for the killer progresses, authorities will find out more information regarding the real motive behind the attack.

A poster tweeted by the Little Rock Police (@LRpolice) states that one can be rewarded “$20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) involved in the Homicide on 12/17/2016 at 6700 Mabelvale Cutoff where a 3-year-old child was killed.” Any information can be submitted to 501-371-INFO (4636) or 501-304-8477.
