ATTACK AFTER ATTACK

Twitter has been the main source of action between President-elect Donald Trump and CNN. Trump retweeted people that supported and criticized Jeff Zeleny, a member of CNN, because he reported there was no evidence that supported Trump’s claim that multiple fraudulent votes had been cast for Hillary Clinton. The first tweet that Trump retweeted was, “What PROOF do u have Donald Trump did not suffer from millions of FRAUD votes? Journalist? Do your job!” The second tweet he retweeted said, “Just another generic CNN part time wannabe journalist!”

After retweeting multiple tweets, Trump finally decided to tweet and attack CNN himself. “@CNN is so embarrassed by their total (100%) support of Hillary Clinton, and yet her loss in a landslide, that they don’t know what to do.” He also added, “I thought that @CNN would get better after they failed so badly in their support of Hillary Clinton however, since election, they are worse!” Jeff Zeleny responded to Trump’s tweet saying, “@realDonaldTrump Good evening! Have been looking for examples of voter fraud. Please send our way. Full-time journalist still working.”

Trump believes that the only reason Hillary had a lead in the popular vote is because “millions of people who voted illegally” were promoted on conspiracy sites. Once Trump tweeted about the conspiracy theory sites, CNN anchors and reporters constantly noted that there is no evidence to support Trump’s claim for Hillary’s lead in the popular vote. Along with CNN, election officials in California and Virginia has called Trump’s claim, “unsubstantiated” and “unfounded.”
