MILLERSVILLE, MD---- Police are investigating a bullying incident that involves a girl battling cancer. Kendal Warddell was humiliated in public by a friend.

Kendal Warddell had exchanged some words with an ex-friend on social media before and thought that it had ended, but then it turned into bullying. “It was humiliating. I was like, “Oh my God, what are people going to think about me?’ “, stated Kendal.

In August at the Annapolis Mall, Kendal’s ex-friend had greeted her with a hug, in which turned out to be just a set up. “She puts her arm up and pulls my wig off and throws it”, explained Kendal. Kendal had ran out of the mall crying and called her mother to pick her up.

At the time of the incident very few people were aware of Kendal having cancer, so this was a very embarrassing moment for her. The incident was even recorded and posted on social media leading to a police investigation where a 15-year-old girl was charged as a juvenile with assault. The girl also had received 90 day probation.

Kendal’s father, Chris Warddell, wants a stronger punishment and for the police to charge the girl who recorded the incident. “What do I want for my daughter? I want her to feel safe, be able to go to school, not have to worry about being bullied,” explained Chris Warddell.

“Our detectives have done subpoenas and court documents to obtain cellphone records, and that takes time,” Anne Arundel County police Lt. Ryan Frashure said.

Kendal claims that the girls continue to bother her at Broadneck High School by making comments in the hallway, and she just wants it to stop. Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ Spokesman explained how what happened to Kendal was horrible and that Broadneck High School is continuing to deal with this.
