Image result for bullying In today’s world, people can be cruel and may not care or even understand how much it can affect another person. Bullying someone for who they are and what they look like can really tear a person’s self confidence down to a point they do not feel comfortable being themself any longer.

According to ABC13.com, a girl of 11 years old confessed that she has been bullied for her ears. Kids would make fun of her and always pointed out that her ears were large. The young girl, Bella Harrington was bullied relentlessly and she believed the only thing to make it stop was for her to get plastic surgery.

Bullying is not something that should be taken lightly because it happens more often than people may think. When a child or anyone is bullied, it limits them from things they want to do and it restricts them from feeling comfortable in their own body.

BullyingStatistics.org states that about 77 percent of students have admitted to being the victim of at least one type of bullying or another.

McKenzie Mitchell, a senior at Pocomoke High School said, “I feel that bullying is terrible, no one her age should ever have to change their body because they are harassed to that point.”

Bella Harrington was severely picked on to the point she wanted to undergo plastic surgery to change her physical appearance. No one should ever feel obligated to change the way they look, especially a child of such a young age. When someone has been bullied for a very long period of time, they may begin to feel hopeless and that there is nothing left for them to do to help the situation that they are struggling through.
