NEW YORK CITY, NY- New York University, a prestigious private nonprofit nonsectarian research university based in New York City, had an article written by Fox News on an NYU professor who “blasted PC culture” and was then taken away from the classroom. Michael Rectenwald was the NYU liberal studies professor that was “on a crusade against political correctness,” states Fox News.

“They are actually pushing me out the door for having a different perspective,” Rectenwald states. Fox News reports that Rectenwald told the New York Post that he was forced on Wednesday to go on paid leave from the prestigious university for the rest of the semester. Rectenwald was very unhappy with NYU’s decision of letting him go, even calling academia “a mad house”.

He created a Twitter account to voice his opinion last month, named “DeplorableNYUProfessor”. Fox News states that this was “a personal protest against social justice warriors was a “no safe spaces” zone, where Rectenwald expressed his frustration with current PC culture on campus”.

The Twitter account claims to “expose the viral identity politics of academia and its destruction of academic integrity.” One tweet on his page states that “The identity politics left: they need a safe space that is at once a hall of mirrors and a rubber room.” In a country where each person has the right to speech, many people feel as if their words are censored, especially in academics.
