A Brazilian man, including his wife and mistress, were each sentenced to 68-70 years in prison after being found guilty of murdering women and packing their flesh into pastries. Not only did they eat the pastries themselves, they sold them to their neighbors. The rest of the bodies were presumed to have been buried in the backyard.

Jorge Beltrão Negromonte da Silveira, his wife, Isabel Pires, and his mistress, Bruna Cristina Oliveira, were finally sentenced after being incarcerated in 2012 for the killings of two women. The trio had been on trial for the murders of  Alexandra Falcon Silva, 20, and Gisele Helena da Silva, 31. Before ultimately being butchered and being made into pastries, the women had been lured in by the offering of a nanny job in the homes or being given religious advice. According to BBC, the killings were carried out as a “purification ritual.”
