With the boys basketball season ending it’s a lot of emotions running high. The season started off rocky, but senior Tyree Thornton practically put the team on his back and took our boys varsity into the second round of playoffs falling short to crisfield 62-70. Ending their season with a record of 9-12.

The team's motto was to play with heart , desire , and will. With all of that your sure to have a great game. After speaking with coach Derrick Fooks , he believes the downfall begin with inexperienced players, Started off with two kids left from the 2016 championship team, three other players move up to varsity, that’s the starting five, then seven of the rest of the players are just inexperienced.

Fooks States, “ I’m disappointed that the season ended, yet I’m always disappointed when the season end regardless of what way the season went, I’m a 24/7 ,365 day kind of coach basketball never ends.

    Working wit

h the boys all year round just to prepare them for the season , even if it may had been shooting around in the gym they never settle they want to be great and that’s

Going in the second round of playoffs the team had a very good mindset. They knew they needed to win to advance and that's definitely what all the seniors wanted to do. Senior Skyler Williams states” I want to be able to contribute to the team as much as I can, Coach always tells me “ Skyler once you get the ball shoot regardless if you make it or miss it , we need you right now”.
what they strive to do. “ It hurt me , my last high school game ever , we were well prepared we just fell short.” says Thornton.

Even though they didn’t make it in playoffs they want all to do well.” Play hard and don’t worry about the next day play for that day. You limit mistakes when you take it one day at a time.” says Fooks.
