It's hard to believe that the the school year is halfway over, as kids are getting ready for winter break and then finals in January. Here, finals count as 20% of students grades, which could easily drop or bring up your grade. Many students here can testify to that as they went from passing grades to barely passing.

However, there are some students who won't have to take finals as they will be taking PARCC or an A.P Exam in place of it. Students will have take their 1st and 2nd block finals one day then the next day they will take their 3rd and 4th block finals. Many students find these 2 days to be stressful yet relaxing as they are able to go home early.

Students like Michaela Redden haven't taken as many finals as others in her junior class as she has taken either exams or PARCC in its places. “Finals are a bit stressful, in classes that I've taken where its count as 20% of my grade I've had to study even more than when it doesn't.” said Redden. Many teachers in the school offer study session or have big review days weeks before.

According to Carlos Enriquez studying the review packet that they give you and getting a good night of rest before helps so you know the contact of what's going to be on finals and aren't tried. Enriquez, a senior here at the school states that he usually passes his finals.

Overall finals count as a big aspect in high school as they determine whether a students will get the credits they need or will have to double up to makeup for those lose credits.
