Floyd Mayweather regains title as world's top earning athlete

    Everybody enjoys watching pro sports and there are all kinds but people especially like watching boxing and more importantly they like watching Floyd Mayweather. Floyd “Money” Mayweather has now regained his title has as the highest paid athlete in the history of sports.

    He regained his title in the Forbes rankings of the world's top 100 earning athletes.

    “Mayweather earned a total of $275 million in his fight vs UFC fighter Conor McGregor who is number 4 on the US business magazine list.”

     Cristiano Ronaldo who has been at the top spot for the last two years and he dropped to third on the list, Lionel Messi edges him out for second place on the list. There are no women athletes on the list after Serena Williams dropped out of it.

    The top 100 list of athletes earned a total of $3.8 bn, up to 23% from the previous year, Forbes said, according to F1 driver Lewis Hamilton is the top Briton at number 12 with 51 million  

    Mayweather has the nickname of “Money” for a lot of reasons, but his sport earnings added up and it was about 10 million dollars in endorsements.

    “Boxing's biggest night helped Mayweather and McGregor earn about 400 million combined” said by Kurt Badenhausen, senior editor at Forbes Media.

    “But basketball players dominate the top 100 overall thanks to the soaring salary cap triggered by the NBA’s $24 bn TV contract.” He also added that Forbes list of top earning athletes was full of people being testosterone heavy. But there has always been at least one female athlete that was present on the list but as many as three in the past years.

    “Floyd Mayweather, Cristiano Ronaldo and tiger woods at number 16 this year are the only 3 athletes to be on top of the best paid list in the last 18 years in professional sports.
