“NFL players should proudly stand for the national anthem.” President Trump said today after praising the leagues new rule which is banning players from kneeling on the field during the song.” Said by ABC news.com

Trump criticized any of the leagues players who would kneel for the national anthem and challenge the leagues new rule.Suggesting that “Maybe you shouldn't be in the country”.

“ I don’t think people should be staying in locker rooms,” Trump said in an interview with Fox and Friends. President trump thinks that NFL player should stand proudly for the anthem and you should but people should be able to do whatever it is that makes them happy some sources say.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced on Wednesday that all NFL players and team personal “shall stand and show respect for the flag and the anthem” during this upcoming season.

Athletes that choose not to stand for the national anthem under the new policy will be allowed to stay in the locker room until the national anthem is over in the upcoming season. Any players or personnel who violate this rule and do not stand on field will be fined.

“ After a season full of controversy over the NFL players protesting peacefully by locking arms, kneeling or staying in the locker room skipping the national anthem, President Trump lauded the NFL’s decision to fine teams who have players that go against the NFL policy.”

Former San Francisco 49er's Quarterback Colin Kaepernick sparked the protests by kneeling and refusing to stand during the national anthem. As the NFL season went on more and more NFL stars started to join Kaepernick which this would seize the opportunity to bring attention to social justice issues.
