Pocomoke Basketball's Rough Start

By: Colby Speta

With the Pocomoke Boys Basketball team starting off 0-4 start with a 21, 43, 11, and 55 point losses to Kent County, Stephen Decatur, Cambridge South Dorchester, and Crisfield.

But, let’s not forget last year where the went 1-9 in the first ten games. With loss after loss the Pocomoke team remained a force that wouldn’t die and came back from holiday break and went on 7-6 run and with a 5 game win streak in there.

Back in the 2018-2019 season the warriors show the same drive and ambition to be on top as they always do.

They will face tough competition in the governor's challenge (Christmas Basketball Tournament) this year faceing teams from Staten Island, Virginia Beach and upper Maryland.

Senior Brendon Shrieves says that “We’re going to have a few bumps along the road but this season will be a good season.”.

From an outsiders opinion, senior Gabe Nock says ‘The Pocomoke High school basketball team in my opinion has had a rough start to the beginning of the season, but they could turn it around with motivation and hard-work because they have the skills to win they just need to work to know how to apply them .”
