Kobe Bryant was born in philadelphia on August 23, 1978. Kobe’s father’s name was Joe Bryant. He was born to play basketball, and it seemed to be in his blood. Joe played basketball in Europe, so the Bryant family moved there, and that's where Kobe learned to play basketball and speak fluent Italian.

Kobe was 13 when he started playing basketball in high school. He led his school to a state championship title all 4 years and was named Naismith Player of the Year. Kobe thought he was good enough to go straight to the NBA, so he decided to skip college. Kobe was drafted to the Charlotte Hornets in 1996, and was the first guard to be drafted straight out of high school.

Kobe quickly progressed and showed a lot of potential coming into the NBA. He made the All Star Team his second NBA season, becoming the second youngest NBA player to ever make the All Star team. By the time he was 23 years old, Kobe had won 3 NBA titles.

On January 22, 2006 Kobe Bryant made history with scoring 81 points in a single game against Toronto Raptors, which is the second most points in a single game. Above him is only Wilt Chamberlain, who had scored 100 points in a single game.

Kobe Bryant is definitely one of the greatest of all time when it comes to basketball. His impact on the game had a huge effect because it showed that if you work hard, it will pay off in the long run. He played a total of 20 years with the Los Angeles Lakers and ended the last game of his career with 60 points.
