2018 Is Our Year, Are You Ready?

Senior’s this our year so we can move on to the next level in our lives. Everything we have been doing since freshman year of high school has paid off. But are we really ready for the real world? Some students haven’t even applied for any scholarships or any college’s. This is important that we do this because colleges cost way more than they do before, The economy isn’t doing anything for us which leaves our families without any money, living on campus is very expensive, and nowadays parents are still paying off when they were at college.

But that doesn’t there isn’t other ways that we can get ready for college. FAFSA is one of the biggest programs that help students get the opportunities they’re looking for. FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid this is a form that can be prepared annually by current and expected college students in the United States to determine if they're eligible for student financial aid. Guidance counselors help each senior to apply for this program. Also scholarships are a major key if you want money for college, there a variety of scholarships that can help each student at Pocomoke High School.

“College nowadays are expensive so if there's a way that I could get extra money for college then that’s great because it would less money coming out my pocket” said Skyler Williams. There was a saying that applying for scholarships are useless but if you apply for as many scholarships that are available then it’s better than better to have some money on the down side just in case things don’t go the way as planned. Us as students need to take every opportunity to apply for colleges and scholarships before it’s too late because graduation is right around the corner so ask yourself are you ready for college?
