A.P. Courses have been around for awhile now and A.P. stands for Advance Placement. The A.P. course was made to allow a student in high school to get the credits he/she needed while in high school. In return, if they passed the A.P. Exam they would not have to take the class in college.

“ I am in 11th grade, and I have taken A.P. U.S. History, A.P. Calculus, and A.P. Biology,” stated Gracie Boyce.

While some students may feel that A.P. classes are not that challenging others feel that it is hard. Some student’s grades and GPAs have been lowered after taking an A.P. Course. However, other students have said they still have maintained good grades while being enrolled in the A.P. courses.

“ I get A’s in some of  my A.P. classes but I do not get them easily, I feel like the A.P. classes have made my grades lower than what they should be,” said Alana Troxell.

“I have received average grades and I feel like taking A.P. courses has really brought my grades down a lot,” stated Nakai Johnson.

As stated some say that A.P. classes are hard and others say they’re hard but not that hard. One who receives good grades stated that on a scale of 1-10, they would give the A.P. courses an 7 in difficulty, according to Samantha  Baysinger.

While some believe they have the chance in passing the a.P. exam others believe it is a waste of their time and do no enjoy taking the course.

“I don’t enjoy taking A.P. World History, I don’t know anything in the class. I know i will not past the test. I feel like it’s a waste of my time and it’s so overwhelming,,” stated Kylee Holliman

While some students were put into these classes by choice others were forced by parents, teachers, administration, and guidance counselors.

“ It was personally my choice to be enrolled in these courses, because i believed in myself,” stated Boyce.

“ I was forced, my mom emailed the school to get me taken out, and they did not take me out,” stated Troxell.
