Sleep is something you need no matter what. Sleep does a lot of things for your body that you didn’t know. Teenagers need at least 8 to 10 hours of sleep a day.  Meaning you need to spend ⅓ of your day asleep, leaving the rest 16 hours of the day to do whatever you want.

Not getting enough  sleep is not healthy. It can lead to different problems. Studies say if you don't get enough sleep“It can even lead to acne.”. ” “Sleep is food to the brain.” according to The National Sleep Foundation.

More than 100,000 car crashes every year are caused by sleepiness and drowsiness. If you don’t sleep and you are tired then you shouldn’t be driving . Why would you drive like that anyway,  upping the t chances you harm yourself and other people.

If you don't sleep enough it can also cause you to eat more, or just eat more unhealthy and junk foods, which will cause weight gain.

Teens suffer from sleep disorders due to not getting enough sleep. For example, insomnia, narcolepsy, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome are a few sleep disorders that most teens have due to not enough sleep. When you have sleep apnea you pause breathing in your sleep a lot. When you have restless legs syndrome, you always have a urge to move your legs while laying down. Narcolepsy causes overwhelming daytime drowsiness. Insomnia is when you have persistent problems falling asleep and staying asleep.

Most of these disorders are caused by poor sleep habits, anxiety, lack of exercise, or certain medicines.

Now you know sleep is very important to your body.
