The school dress code was made to prevent distraction and prepare children for what the real world will be like in terms of dress code. The policy has not been changed in years, and administration are firm believers in the policy. Compared to the students, they believe that the code is completely unfair and my needs to be relaxed.

“ I think the code gives off a positive impact towards the students, I know that students think that it is dumb, but it’s never too early to learn how you’re supposed to dress for certain events that may happen in your in life,” said Mrs.Rayne

Everyday students are being coded for wearing something they believe felt right for them and was comfortable. The styles today are probably completely different from when the policy was created and put into place.

“ I don’t like the dress code, it’s dumb. I feel like there should be a code but to some extent, like you can wear yoga pants but not tights they’re basically the same thing,” said Diamonique Taylor

Dresses that are shorter than fingertip length, jeans with holes above the knee, apparel that causes undergarments to be seen are unacceptable according the dress code. The other schools in our area have similar dress codes.

“ I have a 15 year old son and a 17 year old daughter and I haven’t had any problems finding them clothes, “ said Mrs.Rayne

Many students have been dress coded and sent home. Many students have tried to abide by the school policy and wearing things that make them feel comfortable at the same time. Making it hard for them.

“ I think that the dress code should be wear shirts that show shoulders, jeans with small holes above the knee and tights to be acceptable,” said Diamond.

The dress code should be changed every few years that way it goes along with the different styles.
