Around 2 weeks ago there was a new addition the the art room. A bunny. After a few days the name that was decided was, ‘Picasso.’ Sadly on Thursday October, 19th, Picasso passed away. Picasso had a cancerous tumor that needed removal. While the surgery was a success, poor Picasso did not wake up from the anesthesia. He was an older bunny. Picasso was 6 years old which is equivalent to around 51 years.

What drove Mrs. Tobiassen to get Picasso was that a student had mentioned how he needed a home. When the vet told Tobiassen about the cancer, she suspected it because of the mass on him. But, she didn’t expect to find out that he was older.

She wanted to give Picasso the best quality of life. So, Tobiassen decided to go through with a surgery to fix him. She prepared herself for the call from the vet. Upon hearing the news she was upset. All of her students became attached to him even though he wasn’t with them for long. Tobiassen stated that Picasso was, “nice to have in class.”

Megan Suplick, senior and Art II student, stated that her excitement for Picasso was a 12/10. Suplick believed the Picasso made the class seem happier.
