You would wonder what would make someone move from a big state or city to a small town with less opportunities, Pocomoke High student Marcdalinda Lochard had no choice, unlike others who do. After years of living in a big state, Marcdalinda and her family had made the decision to move to Pocomoke City, a small town.

When you think about someone moving from one place to another more than usual in their life, you’d expect them to be used to it.

“I’ve lived in Haiti and Florida,” senior Marcdalinda said. “I’d rather move back to Florida because that's where most of my friends are.” Many people who move a lot would rather go back to their hometown because most of their family and friends would be closer to them.“I’m not really good at making friends,” she said. “I don’t know how to.”

At Pocomoke High School, our school staff wants every students to feel welcome, and get along with one another, not as if they aren’t able to get along with others.

“It feels the same as it did when I first moved here” Marcdalinda said. “I haven’t made any good friends.” You would expect things to have changed over time, but for senior Marcdalinda it was the opposite, nothing really changed for her. Students
