The Your 60 program at Pocomoke High school has been a big hit thus far for the students, as well as the staff. It gives all students an opportunity to participate in an activity they choose, or so some thought.

There are some students at Pocomoke High who feel like there should be a widened variety of activities to choose from during Your 60. There could be an open session where coaches take time to work with students that do not participate in the actual sport. “I wish there were more science clubs with hands on experiments.” said Senior, Avion Gale. A club that isn’t well known at the school could have their own session where they help people get a better understanding about what goes on and why they are interested in this club.

The clubs at Pocomoke don’t always have a lot of support because they aren’t really known around the school. A lot of clubs have interest meetings where any student can come to gain more knowledge on the club. If you are interested in learning more about our clubs, here are a few that meet during the sessions: Key Club, Music Technology, Research and Reports, etc.

The Your 60 plan helps students throughout the day with any problems they may have and it gives them a solution. Don’t forget to get extra help from your teachers or make up any missing work during this time. We all have things we like or need to do after school, use this time to not take away from those things.

If you have a suggestion of something you would like to see happen during Your 60, let a Warrior Beat staff member know and we can make an inquiry for you.  If an addition for the program was added for the benefit of more students, this may may have a positive effect on the students and staff.
