The Influenza

“Should the vaccines be mandatory or optional for the Influenza?” Many people do get the vaccines to prevent getting the flu, but other people don’t think the shot is worth it. Tyler Baylous’ mother gets a flu shot every year while their father doesn't.

Baylous’ father had said “ I don’t need a flu shot because I have never got the flu before, so what is the point?”  His Mother had said “ I get the flu shot every year because I don’t want to take a risk and then end up missing work.”

His mother wants him to get the flu shot every year where he is  around some many people that could have these bad germs where he goes to school. These germs get passed on from to student to student and the viral infection just keeps going.

Some parents from children in Pocomoke High School were asked, “Should the vaccines only be mandatory for those in public schools?” More than half responded with, “Yes, if one person gets the flu, from school, most of the family at home will get it as well.” The influenza spreads really easy. If you touch something the contaminated person has touched you are more likely to get it.

If you are in school, and if you get the flu, you must stay home, meaning you are going to miss a lot of work. Catching up on work in high school can be very hard sometimes if you miss more than one in a row. You would have to catch up in 4 different classes. Not only do you got to catch up, but if you decide to not do the work, you will be behind, and clueless on what you are doing in class.
