Generally more students prefer their own transportation to school because it allows them to move at their own pace and still be on time. While those who ride the bus are sometimes late from missing the bus or  often forget things from rushing. For some students, the schools transportation is their only way to school because of distance, while some may walk because they live closer. After interviewing September Morris, she gave different reasons to why she prefers her own transportation.

“I prefer my own transportation over the schools because it lets me sleep in more and gives me more time to get ready in the morning; to make sure I have what I need,” Morris said. “It gives you more time. Buses tend to come early and having my own transportation lets me leave when I want,” she said.

Most of the time students who ride the bus, have to wake up earlier to give themselves more time in the morning to get ready. This is because they have to be on the same schedule as the bus, the bus will not wait for students who aren’t already waiting at the bus stop, or have to run back for something they’ve forgot. So it is then the student's responsibility to be on time.

“I believe more students prefer their own transportation because being able to wake up early, getting dressed and be ready for the bus really rushes you and leads to forgetting something. Having your own transport gives you time to relax and be ready for the day. If you ride the bus when you get to school there’s 30 minutes of standing around. But with your own transportation it can be reduced to 5,” Morris said.

Students who drive themselves or get a ride to school, don’t have to wake up as early as students who ride the bus. This is because they’re on their own set schedule, meaning they don’t have to worry about getting left, or missing their ride. “It generally takes me 1 hour to wake up and get myself together. With my on transport I can get up, be dressed and really ready to go all while taking my time,” Morris said.
